Session on “Sustainable Corporate Communications” ends in Hamburg

Conference part of run-up to Social Media Week 2020

A session focusing on “Sustainable Corporate Communications” was held in Hamburg Thursday (November 7, 2019) in the run-up to Social Media Week underway from February 24-28, 2020. During the session, delegates gained insight into so-called do-gooders and their implications for corporate communications, tips on promoting sustainable consumption and on how to position a company accordingly in future.

Targeted marketing

The “Human.X”- themed Social Media Week 2020 hopes to steer digital marketing more towards people and their experiences. Their ideas and campaigns will be highlighted in three dimensions namely: Privacy Matters, Attention Revolution and Empathy Economics. Data protection and privacy are a must for people to feel comfortable and to interact on the internet. Companies must offer solutions to real problems and gear their marketing strategies towards closer links to their target groups.

While keynote speakers for the upcoming Social Media Week have yet to be announced, past speakers have included Gesina Schwengers, Head of Product Marketing and Strategic Planning Europe at Mercedes Benz Cars – Daimler AG, and Swen Thissen, Head of Social Media at Stern magazine. Companies can apply now for the #smwhh 2020 stage programme to present their ideas and concepts to visitors next February. The agenda features topics such as content and storytelling, emerging trends and future technologies, influencer marketing and creators as well as paid advertising and commerce.
